This is not a great way to make friends with the police.
New York City Police say that a deranged man sucker-punched one of their officers while walking on a sidewalk in Brooklyn. Steven Haynes was caught on the officer's body cam not only punching the uniformed officer across the face but also wrestling him to the ground and not letting him up.
Haynes briefly brawls with the officer before wrestling him to the pavement. Seconds later, the cop’s partner calls for backup, then begins yelling for Haynes to stop. Several other police officers then arrive a minute later and help take Haynes into custody.
The man was arrested and hit with a slew of charges, including assault on a police officer, resisting arrest, obstructing governmental administration, disorderly conduct, and alcoholic beverage violation. He was later released without bail at an arraignment.
