A 60-year-old woman was killed in Times Square on Tuesday when debris came falling down from a building on Seventh Avenue.
Architect Erica Tishman was walking on the street when she was struck. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
“It's a horrible incident. My heart goes out to the family,” Mayor Bill de Blasio said.
He has promised a full investigation.
“We need to know how that happened. We need to make sure it doesn't happen again,” de Blasio said.
