Police Search For Answers After Deadly Jersey City Shootout

The Kosher market at the center of the shootout in Jersey City that left a police officer, 3 victims and 2 gunmen dead was targeted.

Mayor Steven Fulop has called this a hate crime, saying the perpetrators bypassed other potential targets before opening fire on the market.

The gunfire began around 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday when Detective Joseph Seals was gunned down near Bayview Cemetery. The attackers then fled to the market on Martin Luther King Drive where a standoff with police resulted in an exchange of gunfire.

After several hours, a market worker, two customers and two gunmen were found dead inside the store.

The suspects have been identified as David Anderson and Francine Graham.
