Will Smith Tells “Fresh Prince” Bedtime Story At Times Square Sleepover

Will Smith Attends 'La Verdad Duele' Madrid Premiere

Will Smith surprised hundreds of fans sleeping outdoors at Times Square on Saturday night. He read a bedtime story to the crowd taking part in the World’s Big Sleep Out, a global fundraiser fighting homelessness.

And by “bedtime story,” we mean a spoken version of his hit ‘90s sitcom “Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air” theme song. The crowd wasn’t getting much sleep, but they were definitely entertained. Will also spoke about how his role as a homeless man in 2006’s “The Pursuit of Happyness” changed him.

“It makes me emotional thinking about it,” he said. “To not have a place to go and be able to lay your head down with your children at night is a horrendous tragedy.”
