Cleanup Begins After Snow Storm

The dig out begins on Tuesday following the previous day’s snow storm.

Sussex and Morris County got the worst of the storm, with 12.7 inches of snow reported in Highland Lakes. More than 9 inches fell in places like West Milford.

The storm also brought down trees and power lines, leaving more than 30,000 people in the dark early Tuesday morning.

Even areas that didn’t get much snow saw freezing temperatures overnight, which means the potential for icy roads during the morning commute.

The airlines will be playing catchup, with hundreds of flights canceled and thousands more delayed at the area airports yesterday.

School is open in New York City, but there are delays and closures elsewhere in the tri-state area.
