Two Plead Guilty To Setting Their Sleeping Friend On Fire In "Prank"

Brandon Perez and David Sult of Atlantic County, New Jersey, both pleaded guilty to aggravated assault for purposely setting a sleeping man on fire while visiting a friends home.

The two men, who initially told police the victim was burned when his e-cigarette blew up, changed their statements after investigators told them lighter fluid was found on the garments the victim was wearing at the time of the attack.

Both Sult and Perez agreed to the plea deal when the Atlantic County prosecutor said he would recommend five-year sentences for each of them.

The victim told prosecutors that he has lost 30 pounds since the attack and has had numerous blood transfusions and skin grafts during his recovery.
