Rumrunner Arrested for Transporting Booze Without A Permit

Ji Chen of Flushing, New York, was arrested when a Massachusetts State Trooper pulled him over for a traffic violation and found $36,000 worth of liquor packed into his SUV.

According to a story published in the New York Post, Chen was pulled over after he swerved across several lanes of 495. When Police approached the vehicle they noticed numerous boxes of booze stacked from the floor of the truck to the ceiling.

Police records show that the Chevrolet Suburban had hundreds of bottles of Jameson, Kettle One, Jack Daniels, and Bacardi boxed up and ready for sale.

Booze bootleggers make large sums of cash hauling liquor across state lines for resale.

Unfortunately, Massachusetts State law only allows three gallons of liquor to be transported without a permit.

Chen was arrested and his cargo was confiscated.
