A birthday celebration in an upscale Manhattan apartment building was interrupted when six armed men barged in to rob the partiers.
Police say the men strong-armed their way into the apartment by punching a 20-year-old man in the face when he answered the door.
According to an article published in the New York Post, most of the party-goers were able to escape the apartment, but the four who remained were robbed of their sneakers, backpacks, earrings and a calculator.
A resident told police that the apartment is often rented out by Sonder, a service similar to Airbnb.
A Sonder spokesperson released a statement that read, "The safety of our guests and neighbors is our top priority, and we are cooperating fully with law enforcement and building management as they investigate the incident."
