Christopher Dabajo went to wake up his mother in her room at his home in Belleville, New Jersey and was shocked to find she wasn’t there. The family looked for Loretta Dabajo, but when they couldn’t find the 85-year-old, they called the police.
Police searched for hours, but when a K-9 officer with the Essex County Sheriff’s Office was called in, he found her quickly, just a few houses away in a wooded area. Loretta can’t remember anything about what happened, but her son says she suffers from memory problems. Aside from a cut on her hand, she’s unharmed after her adventure.
Her family is grateful she was found and Christopher says, “That dog is like a hero for us.”
