An unnamed man in North Carolina was pulled over by police under suspicion of DUI.
The guy swore up-and-down he hadn’t been drinking, but no one believed him – especially since his breathalyzer was two-times the legal limit. However, researchers at the Richmond University Medical Center in New York eventually realized he was telling the truth. He had a rare condition where he had yeast in his gut that was turning any carbs he ate into alcohol.
So, essentially, he was a one-man brewery and didn’t even know it. The condition has stopped after taking some anti-fungal meds, but his aunt bought him a breathalyzer to test his levels occasionally…just to be safe.
