Mayor Bill de Blasio says President Trump would be taken into custody by New York City police for shooting someone on Fifth Avenue, despite what his attorneys say.
Earlier this week, the president’s legal team argued in a federal appeals court during a hearing on his taxes that Trump couldn’t be investigated while in office.
“If anybody shoots someone they get arrested. I don’t care if it’s the President of the United States or anybody else. If you shoot someone, you should get arrested and we would arrest him,” de Blasio said.
The mayor argued that you shouldn’t be a lawyer if you’re making that argument on behalf of the president.
If you shoot someone that’s a crime and no one is above the law. He would be arrested, period,” de Blasio said.
