Two Fire Trucks Crash Into Each Other In Brooklyn

Eleven firefighters and a pedestrian and were injured Tuesday night when two fire trucks responding to the same call crashed into each other.

Both vehicles were answering a call for smoke in a Crown Heights building at the corner of Crown Street and Rogers Avenue in Brooklyn when the accident occurred.

The collision left the hook and ladder truck from Fire House 113 on the sidewalk pinned between a building and a row of parked cars. The second truck smashed into the rear of a minivan and came to rest in the intersection.

A spokesperson from the FDNY told the New York Post that the 11 firefighters hurt in the accident all suffered minor injuries while the pedestrian was transported to a local hospital and is listed in serious condition.

The cause of the accident is being investigated by the FDNY and the NYPD.
