Who will the New York Mets choose to replace Mickey Callaway?
That remains to be seen, but one out-of-work skipper with a Big Apple pedigree is believed to be in the running for the job.
According to MLB Network, former Yankees manager Joe Girardi is “sure to get” a sit-down interview with Mets brass. Veteran skipper Buck Showalter is also reportedly in the mix as well.
The report goes on that the Mets are presently in the stage where only telephone interviews are being conducted but I can’t imagine they need to make one to Girardi when a google search will tell them all they need to know about each candidate.
And that would be that each is far better than any manger the Mets have had in the dugout in a decade.
