Brothers Die In Murder-Suicide In Upper West Side NYCHA Houses

The bodies of 65-year-old Paul Horton and 60-year-old Dino Horton were found in their NYCHA Fredrick Douglass Houses apartment Monday. Police believe the crime was a murder-suicide.

Paul Horton's daughter, who did not want to be identified, told the NYPD that she had stopped over to the apartment to visit her father and uncle when she discovered her uncle dead on the floor with a stab wound to his head. Her father’s body was hanging from a rope right next to his dead brother.

Neighbors of the Horton brothers told the New York Daily News that the two brothers were always bickering and the police were there often on domestic violence calls including twice last week.

According to police records Paul Horton had filed for an order of protection against his brother Dino in the last week of September and a judge was scheduled to hear the case next week on Tuesday.

The order of protection will be "abated by death," according to a police source.
