Cameras Will Catch Bus Lane Violators

New cameras will catch drivers who obstruct bus lanes on Manhattan’s Upper East Side.

The cameras will be mounted on buses serving the M15 line. They will take images and video that could lead to fines.

The idea is to speed up buses and reduce congestion.

Drivers will have a 60-day warning period. After that, those caught obstructing the bus lanes will be subject to a $50 fine for the first offense. Fines will increase to a maximum of $250.
