Judging by the excitement that surrounds every new Starbucks creation it’s safe to say lots of Americans are obsessed with coffee. But not everyone gets their caffeine fix from Starbucks, with a lot of people preferring local chains to huge franchises.
Well, Sunday is International Coffee Day and in honor of the occasion, WalletHub set out to determine which are the best cities for all those coffee lovers, looking at 100 of the biggest cities in the U.S. and judging them on 14 different factors including coffee prices, the number of highly rated affordable coffee shops, the number of “coffee lovers” meet-ups, coffee-centric events and more.
And after all of that, which city topped the list? Well, not surprising, Seattle, home of Starbucks, is the top city for coffee fanatics, earning a 69.44 out of 100, followed by last year’s winner, New York (which had dethroned Seattle) in second, which actually has the most coffee shops and cafes per capita.
