Security Increased For UN General Assembly

President Trump and many other world leaders are in the city today, as the UN General Assembly gets in full swing.

About 200 dignitaries from around the world will be in town and that means security will be extremely tight. The NYPD will be on the job with numerous street closures. State police and federal law enforcement officials will also be in the city providing additional security.

The NYPD will have sand trucks, blocker vehicles and barriers set up to keep the area around the United Nations safe.

One of the big topics of the General Assembly will be Iran’s apparent attack on a major oil facility in Saudi Arabia. President Trump said he has no plans to meet with Iranian leaders.
