Man Arrested In Gruesome Bronx Murder

The NYPD alleges that Charles Votaw beat, hog-tied and slashed Jason Nieves following an argument the two men had last week and left Nieves' corpse to rot in his Fordham Heights residence.

The body was found by the NYPD after Nieves' neighbors called the police to complain about a foul odor emanating from his apartment.

According to an article published in the New York Post, the NYPD said Nieves was knocked out, duct-taped from his waist to his ankles and then had his throat slit "in an effort to decapitate him." The police report also stated that the victim had a plastic bag placed over his head and cuts to his chest and each of his wrists to "dismember and conceal his remains."

Votaw was arrested and charged with assault, concealment of a human corpse and tampering with physical evidence.

Votaw is being held in the Vernon C. Bain Correctional Center in Brooklyn.
