A man from Brooklyn, New York spotted someone breaking into vehicles in his neighborhood and decided to do something about it.
The unidentified 41-year-old resident spotted a guy allegedly trying to break into a series of vehicles, including his own SUV. Once the would-be thief noticed he was being watched, he took off on his bike and fled the scene. That's when the man got behind the wheel of his SUV and gave chase.
Eventually, he caught up with the man on the bike and ran him over in the middle of an intersection. First responders tried to help the man on the bike but he was eventually pronounced dead at the scene. The cyclist had also managed to slash a witness with a screwdriver before he died.
The weapon was recovered and police say they are investigating and that charges are pending.
