Storm Causes Power Outages on Long Island

More than 35,000 people were without power on Long Island on Friday morning after a storm tore through the Tri-state area.

The storm carried 60 mile per hour wind gusts, along with heavy rain. It brought down trees and wires across the island. In Brightwaters, two trees fell on a home, but no one was injured. There was also a wall collapse that damaged cars in East Farmingdale.

The outages are centered mostly in Suffolk County, but there are also reports of damage in Nassau County.
