NYPD Sergeant Loses Vacation Days in Eric Garner Case

An NYPD supervisor will keep her job in connection with the death of Eric Garner.

Sergeant Kizzy Adonis will lose 20 vacation days as part of a plea deal she struck with the NYPD. Adonis responded to the scene in Staten Island five years ago where a chokehold was used on Garner.Video showed him repeatedly saying “I can’t breathe” before he died.

“The decision by the NYPD to dock Sgt. Kizzy Adonis twenty vacation days is too little too late. In fact, the loss of vacation days is akin to no penalty at all,” the Reverend Al Sharpton said in a statement.

Earlier this week, Police Commissioner James O’Neill fired Officer Daniel Pantaleo for Garner’s death.
