Fake Cop Pulls Over Van Full Of Real Cops

A man from Long Island, New York really wanted to be a police officer.

So much so that he wasn't willing to actually apply and go through the steps of becoming one but rather just decided to pull people over and pretend to be a cop. He was doing well right up till the moment he pulled over a van traveling on a local highway. Turns out it was filled with actual police detectives.

Valiery Portlock was driving his black Nissan Sentra about 11 a.m. on Friday when he drove up behind the van and activated his air horn and emergency lights. When the van stopped in traffic, the detectives from the Nassau County PD’s Electronics Squad got out, identified themselves and tried to approach Portlock’s car.

That's when Portlock took off in his car and began to swerve into oncoming traffic. Other officers spotted him on the highway and eventually pulled him over. He was arrested and charged with criminal impersonation in the first degree, as well as reckless endangerment and unlawful fleeing from a police officer.
