Yankees Slugger Giancarlo Stanton Expected To Return In September

A return during the regular season appears to be very much in play for New York Yankees slugger Giancarlo Stanton.

Yankees GM Brian Cashman said yesterday that the team expects the former MVP to return in September.

And when they do get him back, you can be sure he will be well rested, because Stanton has only played in nine games all season. He strained his calf early in the year and then suffered a PCL strain in his right knee just days after returning to the lineup following the calf issue

But it really has been a win-win for the Yankees as, in his absence, the Yankees have still managed to go an AL best 81-41 and lead their division by 10 games entering play Thursday while rotating in some impressive young talent.

Which is why Stanton’s returns just make a very good team even better.
