9/11 Victims Compensation Fund Signed on Monday

President Trump will sign the 9/11 Victims Compensation Fund into law on Monday.

He’s invited first responders to the White House, after it passed the Senate last week on a 97 to 2 vote. Only Senators Rand Paul and Mike Lee voted against it after complaints about how long the program ran for and how much it cost.

“Reassuring day for all first responders & lower Manhattan residents who are suffering from 9/11 related illnesses & for their families,” Congressman Peter King tweeted.

The measure essentially makes the fund permanent, providing benefits to first responders and others who became sick after the 9/11 attacks.
