A 90-year-old woman in hospice care recently received her dying wish – ice cream. Norma Pearlman said she’s misses going to the ice cream shop since being confined to her home in Western New York. “Every night I say I want ice cream before I go to bed.”
Pearlman’s son-in-law, Paul Kramer, made sure her wish was granted. He reached out to Sweet Melody’s to explain Norma’s situation. Sweet Melody was immediately on board and brought the ice truck to her front door. It also happened to be her husband George’s 91st birthday.
Norma was happy to place ice cream orders, while her husband of 67 years said the truck experience made him feel like a kid again. Sweet Melody's gave them the treats free of charge.
