Bogus Plastic Surgeons Will Serve Jail Time, Probation

Dr. Nicolas Sewell accepted a plea deal that will have him serve only three months behind bars for performing over 60 illegal plastic surgery operations at the Allure Plastic Surgery Clinic on 150 East 61st Street.

According to an article published in the New York Post, Sewell and plastic surgeon Brad Jacobs, who had his medical license revoked in 2007, botched numerous procedures, some of which are still being litigated.

Attorney General Letitia James claims the clinic earned hundreds of thousands of dollars between 2012 and 2016. James went on to say, "Practicing medicine without a license jeopardizes the lives of New Yorkers, undermines our healthcare system, and diminishes the work of licensed doctors committed to the health and safety of their patients."

While Sewell accepted a plea deal that includes five years of probation, Jacobs was sentenced to three to nine years in jail after pleading guilty to grand larceny, scheme to defraud, and two counts of unauthorized practice of medicine.
