A celebrity doctor stepped up to save the life of a fellow passenger on board a flight to Israel. Dr. Mikhail Varshavski, a New York physician better known as “Doctor Mike,” who was voted “America’s sexiest doctor” by “People” magazine, was flying to Tel Aviv when passenger Matt Faraco went into anaphylactic shock two hours into the flight.
Faraco says he doesn’t normally have allergies, but felt his throat start to close up and when the cabin crew asked for any doctors on board, Dr. Mike was there to help. Without an EpiPen on the plane, he was able to use the advanced life support kit, which included epinephrine, to save Faraco. He then stayed with him during the flight, monitoring him until they landed.
“All I can say is how thankful I am,” Faraco says. “He really saved me.”
