A baby was declared dead in Queens on Tuesday after being found, only for investigators to later admit it was just a doll.
The realistic looking doll was spotted near Crocheron Park in Bayside resulting in a police response. It was publicly stated that a 3-month-old baby had been pronounced dead at the scene.
It wasn’t until the medical examiner arrived and ruled that the baby was actually a doll. It’s unclear exactly how the mistake was made, except officials said it looked realistic.
