Terror Suspect Sentenced On Thursday

A terror suspect who pleaded guilty to planning an attack on New York City’s subway system will be sentenced on Thursday.

Najibullah Zazi faces the potential of life in prison when the sentence is handed down in Brooklyn federal court. However, Zazi could get significantly less time because he’s been cooperating with authorities for about a decade and has provided information on al-Qaeda.

Zazi was arrested in 2009 after building explosives and then crossing into New York City over the George Washington Bridge. At the time, it was considered one of the most serious threats against the city since the 9/11 attacks.
