The sting had undercover officers posing as boys and girls between 13 and 15 years old trolling popular hook-up websites looking for underage children to meet up with. The undercover officers who were online made sure to let the predators know they were home alone and underage.
The men corralled in "Operation Home Alone" include a New Jersey Police Officer, a minister from Philadelphia, and a school teacher from the Bronx.
According to an article published in the New York Post the New Jersey Police Officer who believed he was chatting with a 15-year-old girl used a profile picture of himself dressed in his uniform.
An NYC Department of Education spokesperson speaking on the arrest of the Bronx High School teacher caught up in the sting said the teacher has been reassigned away from kids pending a criminal probe.
