Four People Arrested After Road Rage Brawl

A Queens road rage brawl led to the arrest of an off-duty NYPD officer and three other people.

Marlena Nelson, who has been a Manhattan South police officer for over 10 years, was arrested along with Veronica Nelson, Diamond Monroe and Antoine Monroe, for exchanging blows in the intersection of Baisley and Merrick Boulevard in St. Albans, Queens.

Witness Billy Stedman said, "The two cars were headed in the same direction side by side when one of the cars cut the other one off. Both of the cars stopped in the middle of the intersection and the people jumped out and started screaming and pushing each other."

When police arrived on the scene, all four combatants were arrested then released with desk appearance tickets.

Antoine Monroe was also charged with criminal obstruction of breathing charges for attempting to choke Officer Nelson.

An article in the New York Daily News said Officer Nelson was suspended without pay after her arrest.
