A New Jersey dentist who created a controversial Easter display featuring mannequins in revealing outfits is promising to rebuild it after it was torn down by a neighbor.
"It's one of those things where just the principle that makes me want to put it back up," Wayne Gangi told WOR's Alice Stockton-Rossini.
The display featuring mannequins wearing lingerie and holding Easter baskets was set up outside Gangi's dentist office in Clifton. A number of people stopped to take pictures and admire it, but it also upset neighbor Desiree Mozek.
"Nobody was going to do anything about it, so I did," Mozek said.
Mozek tore down the display on Tuesday and said she worried about how it was impacting her 16-year-old son. She described the mannequins as "hookers."
"I know it's 2019, but he doesn't like to see stuff like that," Mozek said.
Gangi has put up decorations for holidays previously, saying he hopes that it puts a smile on the face of people as they drive past the office.
"I always expect i"m going to have some kind of a problem with some person that's not going to be acceptable of everything I display, but I never knew it was going to be somebody so close," Gangi said.
