MTA Tolls Increase

Drivers are paying more to use the MTA’s bridges and tunnels.

Tolls went up on Sunday, increasing by about six percent on average. The cash toll for the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge is now $19, while the E-Z Pass cost is $12.24.

The toll increase is part of a new budget approved by the MTA board earlier in 2019. Fare hikes for the subways, buses and trains will take effect on April 21, 2019.

The MTA typically raises tolls and fares every two years.
