Mom And Son Arrested With Marijuana Edibles

A New Jersey mother and son were pulled over with more than 35 bags of cereal laced with THC and other marijuana edibles. Connie Rivera and Jason Rivera seem to have had a total of more than five pounds of the drug in their possession when the officer stopped their 2002 Chevrolet SUV in the parking lot of Burger King.

The officer says that neither of them was wearing a seat belt and that she did not signal to turn. The officer also says that he could smell marijuana when he approached the vehicle. When they searched the vehicle they found 11 bags of marijuana; jars of marijuana and marijuana purée; and 36 bags of cereal, including Cap'n Crunch, Froot Loops and Fruity Pebbles, containing marijuana, or "inundated with THC," which is the active chemical in cannabis.

Oh, and they also found $14,000 in cash. Mom and son were charged with intent to distribute more than five pounds of marijuana, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
