Detectives Hunt for Suspect In Possible Hate Crime

Three Law Enforcement Officials Shot In NYC's Greenwich Village

Detectives with the NYPD Hate Crimes Division are trying to determine if an assault on a Muslim woman was a random attack or a crime spurred on by hate.

Surveillance video captured Saturday afternoon shows the 41-year-old victim walking down Avenue H near Rugby Road in Flatbush, Brooklyn, when a man walks up to her and begins kicking at her feet in an attempt to knock her to the ground.

When that failed the man kicked the women in the leg and fled the scene.

Police describe the suspect as a 5 foot 7-inch white man between 20-25-years-old. The man was wearing a black jacket over a gray hooded sweatshirt and wearing blue jeans when he was last seen.

The NYPD would like anyone who has information on the crime or the man suspected in the crime to call Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS.

According to an article published in the New York Daily News, the victim suffered a few bruises and did not need medical attention.
