Hecklers are par for the course for comedians, but when one dared to make a tasteless joke about Mac Miller during Pete Davidson’s recent set in South Orange, New Jersey, the comedian threw him out. To review, Mac – who died of an accidental drug overdose in September – dated his ex, Ariana Grande, before he did.
According to an eyewitness, the “Saturday Night Live”-er started one of his jokes with, “So a funny thing happened to me recently in my apartment…my friend died of a heart attack.” Some insensitive jerk yelled out, “Mac Miller.” At that point, “Pete calmly stops his routine and asks the audience to ID the dude that yelled out and that he is going to have to leave. He then asks security to locate the yeller and escort him out,” the source said. Not only did Pete have the man removed, he also gave him back his money because he didn’t want it.
The whole incident lasted about five minutes. After everything was said and done, Pete finished his set. And for the record, the joke wasn’t about a friend dying. One of his friends passed out in his apartment and he mistook the incident for a heart attack.
