The driver of a school bus for special needs children crashed in Newark and had to be revived with Narcan.
Lisa Byrd, 57, was allegedly high on heroin. Newark Public Safety Director Anthony Ambrose said she still had the drug in her hand when authorities revived her.
“This is a pathetic situation,” Ambrose said.
Twelve special needs children were taken to the hospital for evaluation and released. Byrd is facing several charges, including endangering the welfare of a child.
She will be arraigned on Thursday.
