Snow Forecast For Tri-State Area

New York City and the entire tri-state area is bracing for a snowstorm.

One-to-three inches of snow is expected for much of the area, with two-to-four inches possible for north Jersey. The snow is expected to begin falling in the afternoon and will impact the drive home.

“We have learned to be cautious, to assume the worst, so we’re already in a stance of assuming it could be more than that and the timing could be exactly when we don’t want it,” Mayor Bill de Blasio said.

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for the entire area through 6 a.m. on Thursday. Governor Phil Murphy has declared a State of Emergency in New Jersey.

“So we encourage people to plan ahead and consider alternatives such as telecommuting if possible,” Murphy said.

The snow will change over to rain tonight.
