Freezing Cold Temperatures Hit NYC Area

It’s brutally cold in the tri-state area on Monday with temperatures plunging into the single digits.

The high is expected to be just 14 degrees with temperatures as cold as 7.  Strong winds will make it feel as cold as 20 below zero.

A wind chill advisory is in effect for much of the region through 7 p.m. on Monday.  A wind advisory is also in effect.

A Cold Blue warning is in effect for New York City.  That means shelter is available across the city for those in need.  New Yorkers are asked to call 911 if they see anyone at risk, especially those living on the street.
