De Blasio Won’t Rule Out Run for President

Mayor Bill de Blasio is fueling speculation that he plans to run for president.

He’s planning to travel the country spreading a progressive message and in an interview with CNN’s “State of the Union” wouldn’t rule out the possibility that could lead to a run for the White House.

“I never rule things out because you never know what life brings, but I’m focused on the work I’m doing now and getting this message out,” Mayor de Blasio said.

Last week, the mayor announced plans to guarantee all New Yorkers  health care coverage.  He also proposed giving all workers in the city  two weeks paid time off.

In the coming weeks, the mayor will travel to a number of different cities to encourage others to adopt similar policies.

“I’m  focused on the job I have, but I’ve also been really clear I’m going to  spread this message because this should be the idea of the Democratic  party,” de Blasio said.
