These days, we can do just about anything with virtual assistants, like Amazon’s Alexa. Now people who use Google Assistant can donate money to a charity or nonprofit just by telling the voice-activated program to “donate to a charity” or to “make a donation” to the organization of their choice.
Users give the name of the charity of their choice and the amount they want to give, Google prompts them to finalize the donation and then the money is routed to Network for Good, a nonprofit that processes donations to charities. The idea is that making it so simple to give will make more people want to support causes they care about. And now Google Assistant does what Amazon’s Alexa has been doing since April 2018, so supporting your favorite groups is just a voice command away.
