A career criminal who allegedly attacked an 88-year-old woman on Christmas morning was arrested after police from the 60th Precinct viewed surveillance video and recognized him from previous arrests.
50-year-old Marc Malone faces numerous charges for allegedly pushing in the door of Luybov Faynshteyn and viciously punching her in the face while attempting to rob her.
Police told the New York Daily News that Malone saw that Faynshteyn left her front door slightly ajar and took advantage of the situation. Once the crook was inside the house Faynshteyn told police that she activated her Life Alert Emergency medical device, which angered the felon, and led to her getting punched in the face and knocked to the floor.
First responders found the octogenarian on the floor of her home with minor injuries and transported her to Coney Island Hospital for observation.
Malone's arrest record contains dozens of arrests dating back to 1984. His record also shows two prison stints.
