New Cafe Opens In Staten Island Mall

A brand new cafe has opened in the food court at the Staten Island Mall!

Illy Caffe, which has roots back to 1933 in Trieste, Italy.

The franchise co-owner, Hassan Muyir, says "while the kiosk recently opened in a space in front of Dave and Buster’s, he plans to expand in the New Springville Mall’s newly renovated foot district."

“This is a temporary kiosk. The permanent cafe will be coming in two to three months,” said Muyir, who owns the kiosk with his cousins, Andrea Latif and Jose Safa, and his brother, Ali Muyir.

“We have iced coffee drinks, that are flavors, like vanilla, hazelnut, chocolate. We do the real macchiatos from Italy -- expresso with a shot of milk. This is a real Italian cafe,” he added.

“Once we have a bigger space, we will have more Italian desserts, more sandwiches,” he added.
