Governor Murphy Won’t Rule Out Tax Hike in NJ

Governor Phil Murphy isn’t ruling out a tax increase in New Jersey next year, saying he’s taking nothing off the table.

“It’s too early to tell,” Murphy said during a press conference on Wednesday.

The governor said he hasn’t begun thinking about the next budget yet, telling reporters that will happen around March.  But he said he’s still trying to achieve “tax fairness” for the middle class.

“I take nothing off the table on December 19th,” Murphy said.
