Spray Can Picasso Busted in Bed-Stuy

The notorious graffiti artist Francisco Antonio Jimenez San Nicolas was arrested today after the NYPD and law enforcement officials in Spain teamed up to track down the spray-can Picasso.

San Nicolas who recently traveled from Spain to NYC was tracked down after NYPD transit cops circulated photos of the artist's signature tag over the internet and asked for help in identifying the man behind the can.

Spanish transit cops saw the online alert and immediately contacted the NYPD informing them the name and address San Nicolas left with customs indicating where he was staying in NYC. The NYPD went to the Bed-Stuy Brooklyn address and arrested San Nicolas early Monday morning.

San Nicolas was charged with two counts of felonious criminal mischief, making graffiti and criminal trespassing. NYPD officials told the New York Post that they are investigating if the artist is responsible for tagging any other section of the city.

As it stands now San Nicolas is on the hook for just over $3,000 worth of damage.
