A man from Guyana was recently busted at JFK International Airport for trying to smuggle a bunch of live finches to the United States inside hair rollers.
He was stopped at customs upon arrival, where his luggage was inspected. There, they discovered a whopping 70 live finches inside a bunch of hair rollers in his duffel bag. The birds were turned over to the Department of Agriculture and Veterinary Services authorities, and the man was sent back home to Guyana.
