Gov. Murphy Wants to Improve NJ Transit Communication

Governor Phil Murphy has announced a plan to improve NJ Transit’s communication with its riders.

"From day one, I’ve been committed to restoring NJ TRANSIT for the commuters of New Jersey," Governor Murphy said.

It will be rolled out in three phases, called “Engage,” “Inform” and “Improve.”  The first phase will involve engaging customers and finding out where the system can be improved.  The second phase will improve information given to riders, such as when there are service disruptions.  The final phase will involve working to improve the overall system.

"The improvements underway in this initiative will have a real and tangible impact on the lives of nearly one million daily riders who rely on trains and buses every day,” Governor Murphy said.

NJ Transit officials said the ideals of “Engage,” “Inform” and “Improve” will be the foundation on which they transform the system.

"These will be the guiding principles to ensure that everything we do moving forward supports the customer at the forefront." NJ Transit Executive Director Kevin Corbett said.
