New York City Police have tracked down a couple that lost an engagement ring after a proposal in Central Park.
John and his new fiancee Daniella were in Times Square after getting engaged when the ring slipped off Daniella's finger and down a grate. The NYPD retrieved the ring, but the couple was already gone.
"She said Yes - but he was so excited that he dropped the ring in a grate. Our @NYPDSpecialops officers rescued it & would like to return it to the happy couple," the NYPD tweeted on Saturday, asking for helping finding the couple.
On Sunday, Police Commissioner James O'Neill announced that the couple had been found.
"Congrats to John and his betrothed, Daniella (they’re from across the pond, about 2 hours north of London). All’s well that end’s well," O'Neill tweeted.
The couple responded on Twitter, saying the NYPD went "above and beyond."
"We wanted to say thank you to everyone who helped especially @NYPDnews and a special little girl who gave my fiancé a big hug... So much love for NYC!" John tweeted.
"Thank you again @NYPDNews we will never forget how much effort you went to. Love New York," Daniella tweeted.
