Closing Arguments in Queens Jogger Trial

Closing arguments are expected on Monday in the trial of a man accused of killing a Queens jogger.

Karina Vetrano was jogging in Howard Beach in the summer of 2016 when she was brutally attacked and killed.  Her body wasn’t found until months later.

Chanel Lewis, 22, is charged with murder and sexual abuse.  In court last week, prosecutors played an audio recording of Lewis confessing to the killing in February 2017.  At the time, Lewis said that he was angry and began hitting Vetrano when he saw her jogging in the park.

If convicted, Lewis could be sentenced to life in prison.
