Before being touted as the political "King Of Bay Ridge" Councilman Justin Brannan lived the life of a touring punk rock guitarist.
Brannan worked in radio and toured over 50 countries with the two bands, Most Precious Blood and Indecision before he started the Bay Ridge Democrats Club in 2010.
Brannan and friends are credited with turning the formerly Republican stronghold of South Brooklyn into what has become a democratic area leaving Assemblywoman Nicole Malliotakis as the lone Republican left in Brooklyn.
The first year political juggernaut has received major kudos from Democrats Andrew Gounardes and Max Rose who both just scored victories over the Republican candidates.
"He threw everything he had behind making sure we won both our primary and general election", said Rose.
Brannan told the New York Post, "Hey, if I can use my influence to help get other good Democrats elected, then I will. I support candidates who put their neighborhoods first and fight like hell for their constituents.
